WOW, we held our first auxiliary meeting since February 2020, and it felt like coming home. We started an hour earlier, we had security watching over us in the parking lot and we finished before 7:00 pm. It felt great seeing some of our members in person. We also had several members use our Zoom capacity to attend the meeting. On May 22nd we will celebrate our first auxiliary dinner. It will be such a delight to hear the roar of Italian voices and enjoy the delicious Italian cooking and of course eating. I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed attending the Colombo Club events and how much I missed our comradery.

My message is one of new, healthy beginnings. Seeing people full faced, smiling, and happy. We survived a scary and deadly episode in our recent history. We Italians are a hearty and dedicated breed. Our bond is stronger. The important part of our Club is to support our Club by attending our meetings and enjoying our dinners. Let’s share the dining experience with friends and family. We need great turnouts for our dinners, and we need to sell a lot of incentive tickets to provide funding for the charities we support. Even this past year we were able to gift each of our charities $500, plus we also helped fund our scholarship program. We need all our members to become active.

We must also remember Fran Bienati and Elma Dickson who recently lost their husbands. Both of their marriages were over 65 years. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your families.
