Snapshot in to the Club Finances

We have all been impacted by the current increase in costs in every aspect of living, and the Club has not been exempt. The cost of food and liquor increase almost monthly. Utilities, garbage pick up, delivery charges and some vendors demanding payment upon delivery of their products are just of a few examples of what we are now dealing with. We continue to comparison shop to get the best prices without sacrificing quality. The Board’s philosophy is to (obviously) maintain financial stability and we have never been in the business to make a lot of money. Like your household, we pay the bills and save some for a rainy day and those unexpected expenses. We are always looking at ways to reduce costs and become more efficient.

How You Can Help

One of the ways is to be responsible for your no-shows. You are asked to pay $15 per no-show. As an example we had 77 no-shows for the July 7, 2022 Birthday Dinner. That is over $1,100 we have not recouped. Keep in mind we ordered and paid for the food for these 77 persons. We now have a member who has volunteered to call these members to request payment. It would be great if we did not have to make the calls and members took responsibility to pay for the no-shows. We realize there are extenuating circumstances but we cannot continue to take these hits without impacting the bottom line. Help us resolve this issue, especially the night of the event and pay your fair share. Yes, we want to run the club as a family business, but we have to pay the bills.

Lastly, I want to thank Matt Moran, Treasurer who has spent hours fine tuning the profit/ loss statements after every event. It is an invaluable part of the financial picture that will help us determine the future of the club. Thank you Matt for your dedication to the club.
