There are three things that come to mind today that should make us all happy. First is the warmth in the air. Spring is always the best time of year. Second, the Club’s sold-out events. Seeing the number of people coming back to the Club is exciting and rewarding. I need to point out the hard work that everyone who has committed to volunteering over the past two years keeping this club the Best Italian Club in the World. Third is getting ready to celebrate my (our) 40th wedding anniversary May 1st. Crazy to think that 40 years ago we are eating and dancing at the Colombo Club. The club today still has the feeling of love and happiness. We need to commit ourselves to preserving this for many years to come. Il club oggi ha ancora il sentimento di Amore e Felicità. Dobbiamo impegnarci a preservarlo per molti anni a venire.

The Club is happy to report sellout birthday dinners. Il Club è felice di segnalare le cene di compleanno sold out. We have started after covid with one birthday dinner a month. Now we are starting a second dinner if the first dinner sells out. This is hard to predict with the times we live in and the labor shortage. Although we all appreciate keeping the Club affordable, we need to make sure that we keep the Club humming financially. So, get your reservation in early, so we can plan the second dinner on the fly. Call in and join the festivities.

We are not requiring proof of vaccinations at the Club currently. We are following the guidance of Alameda County Health Department. We are still working to make sure our airflow is adequate and always recommend that if you feel any type of cold or flu symptoms that you stay away from the Club. We are happy that this covid situation may be coming to an end, but we need to be vigilant to keep all of our members safe. Siamo felici che questa situazione Covid possa volgere al termine, ma dobbiamo essere vigili nel mantenere tutti i nostri membri al sicuro.

Golfers, sorry for the struggle we are having with the on-line reservation system. Like all new things this being the first time we have taken reservations for the Golf Tournament on-line. The website is responding sold out for some. We are not sold out. Please be patient and go back to the site a get your foursome for a great day of golf at the Sequoyah Country Club on Monday, July 25th. Great tee prizes and dinner, besides the great round of golf with your friends and co-members of the Colombo Club, closing in on 102 years. Crazy!!

It is somewhat surprising that there still are spots available for Opera Night. This will be an amazing night with tenor, Daniel Rodrigues. Daniel is an amazing performer, and we are lucky to have him. Sign up and have a great night of Opera, on Saturday, April 30th.

Thanks to all the members for paying their dues. Grazie per tutti i membri per aver pagato le loro quote. We understand that some have received a call or notice that you have not paid. We are sorry for the miscommunication and are working to fix the issue. We have three ways to pay your dues: On- line, Credit Card, and check by mail. We are working on getting all these ways to pay coordinated and talking together. We are on it!! This is a perfect example of members volunteering to help, but we need others to jump in to ensure the success of the Club.
